Full Description:

17th-century Malines Alabaster Panel of The Resurrection marked with the monogram IDH for Jasper De Hemeleer who is recorded as working between 1619 and 1637.

Two of the Roman soldiers hold up their shields to protect their eyes from the radiance of the risen Christ, while the other soldier sleeps on.

Decorated in original brown paint and gilding.

A panel of The Resurrection by Hemeleer is in the Musees Royaux d'Art et d"Histoire in Brussels.

Top right corner has been reattached and a part of the stem of Christ's banner is missing.  The panel is mounted on brown velvet and is in a modern giltwood frame.
