Full Description:

15th-century carved oak group of The Coronation of the Virgin, North Netherlands, c.1480.

The Virgin kneels in prayer between the crowned figure of God the Father, who holds a globe in one hand, and Christ, wearing a crown of thorns.  The missing hands over the Virgin's head would have held her crown.

The hair, eyes and facial features indicate the probable origins of the group as the Utrecht area.

Lacking: Virgin's crown and three hands.
