Noli Me Tangere.

This scene takes place after the Resurrection when Mary Magdalene, weeping by the empty tomb, suddenly sees Christ walking towards her and, at first, takes him for a gardener.  In reference to this Christ is shown with a spade (wooden with a metal edge) in one hand while he raises the other to warn her not to touch him.  She kneels in prayer, her attribute, the ointment pot, before her.

At the top of this panel is an overhanging Gothic canopy, reminiscent of those sometimes found on Nottingham alabasters of the second half of the fifiteenth century.  The panel probably once formed part of an altarpiece.
